Genie Blocks^® are the newest way to build structures of any size.

The images below show Genie Blocks^® being used in the construction of a 20' x 20' two-car garage. The detached home will be built using Genie Blocks^® as well and the garage will serve as a secure lock-up for tools and supplies as well as a workshop for the crew.

IN THE BEGINNING

The first stage of the project was to pour the footing and floor.
This was accomplished in the same manner as any other project.

In the photo above you notice both rebar and coated ready rod embedded in the footing. The ready rod will be used to create vertical tie-ins as the walls go up. The rebar locations are where and entire vertical column will be filled with concrete.

PLACING BLOCKS

Since this project was being built on a finished pad, a portable crane system,
designed by Genie Block^® was used to lift and place the blocks.

AFTER

All Genie Blocks^® are manufactured to a standard length. Therefore, on every other row, a block must be cut to a 3' length to create 'seam staggering' which is part of the overall strength. Cutting the blocks is a simple task using a concrete saw mounted on a special frame designed by Genie Block^®

The job is now ready for a roof. One feature of Genie Blocks^® is that a minimum
of wood is used thereby contributing to conservation of natural resources.

AFTER

The garage is now finished. This representation is colored to approximate one possible exterior treatment. The corner columns were to match the slate roof ...which is actually not slate at all. Continuing with the environmental theme, the roofing for this garage is shingles made from recycled automobile tires which have been injection molded to look like slate.
