While carpenters frame
windows and doors and roofers put up a roof there are some optional steps
involved in the concrete assembly should you wish to do so. These are
not required steps.
Exterior Grouting
Some face textures will take
on an ‘extra-finished look’ by grouting the seams, and others will not
need any further attention. Much of it comes down to individual
preference.
Parging the Interior Walls
Parging is a coat of mortar
applied over a masonry wall as protection or finish. Depending on the
interior use and/or finishing plans parging may or may not be desirable.
Painting or Staining The
Concrete
Genie Blocks will accept your
choice of paint or stain to achieve exactly the look you want. From a
solid colour to something more ‘artistic’ ...the choice is yours. If you
change your mind or preferences in a few years, old paint can be
sand-blasted off and replaced with your new choice(s) …without having a
build-up of coats that can suppress the subtle surface textures!
