Details About Assembling Genie Blocks

A closer look at the building process.

The interlocking design of Genie Blocks assures a snug, straight fit as blocks are placed atop each other. The assembly therefore is a simple 1-2-3 process as illustrated below.

The Genie Block is picked up from the source which could either be a truck or and on-ground inventory. A flatbed mounted crane is also a viable transportation / lift & place option if able to work in close quarters..

The lifting device then positions the block for placement on the wall while a bead of grout is laid down. The grout provides additional strength relative to shearing forces should an earthquake occur, but its primary function is as a sealant.

The block is then placed upon the wall and manually butted up against the preceding block in the line by a worker. At this point, any tension rods or conduits required are placed inside the wall as required by the building plans.

Three simple steps: Lift, Grout and Place!

Those are the three basic steps creating any wall with Genie Blocks. But there are a few details as well needed to comply with both engineering and municipal guidelines. Note that these guidelines may differ between jurisdictions.

That being said, we continue on to examine the finer points of Genie Block construction. Please click here to continue.
